Solidarity Slacktivism:
Small Actions, Big Impact
Change doesn’t always start with a megaphone—sometimes, it starts with a click, a share, or a signature. Slacktivism—quick, easy actions like signing petitions, amplifying posts, and engaging online—helps spread awareness, build solidarity, and pressure decision-makers.
Your voice matters. Even small actions:
✅ Boost visibility for critical issues
✅ Show collective strength
✅ Pave the way for deeper activism

Bring Our SMART Local 100 Brother, Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, Home and Give Him Due Process, NOW.
Send pre-written messages here and please share
Please take a moment to send a pre-written letter to your federal representative and senator: Tell them to demand SMART apprentice Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia's return to the United States so he can receive due process!
Background info: On March 31, 2025, the Trump administration conceded in a court filing that it had mistakenly deported Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a legally protected Maryland resident and father, to El Salvador “because of an administrative error." The administration is also arguing that because Abrego Garcia is now in Salvadoran custody, the government cannot return him to the United States.
Abrego Garcia is a SMART Local 100 first-year apprentice who currently works full-time to support his young family. He came to the United States as a teenager 15 years ago, and according to his attorneys, he was legally authorized to live and work in this country and had fully complied with his responsibilities under the law. He did not have a criminal record in the United States.
Like many of us, Abrego Garcia works full-time to support his wife and his five-year-old son. SMART is demanding that he is returned to his family. Please take a few minutes to ask your congressional representatives to do the same!

Solidarity Callivism!
A phone call cuts through the noise. When we flood offices with calls—to reps, companies, or decision-makers—we force them to listen. "Callivism" turns collective voices into real pressure for change.
Why it works:
📞 Direct impact – Calls get counted more than emails
🗣️ Human connection – Your story sticks with them
✊🏿✊🏼✊🏽✊🏻✊🏾 Scalable power – 50 calls can shift a vote; 500 can move mountains
PRO TIP: Even a 30-second call ("I support/oppose [issue]") makes you impossible to ignore.
Ready to be heard? Find your next solidarity call/s below.
On March 27, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers at more than 30 agencies.
Now representatives in Congress have introduced the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act, which would overturn Trump’s executive order.
We are asking every single American who cares about the fundamental freedom of all workers to join a union to call their member of Congress right now. Fill out the form on the right to receive a call or dial (844)896-5059.

Some solidarity demands you can say:
• Demand union sheet metal worker with SMART 100 @smartunionworks legal resident Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia be returned from El Salvador immediately.
• FREE detained @seiu_org union member Rümeysa Öztürk & UAW member Mahmoud Khalil, who are illegally detained for daring to organize and taking a stand against Israel’s genocidal acts against the Palestinian people. And stop the illegal detaining of people who are not criminals.
• SPONSOR/SUPPORT the Protect America’s Workforce Act to stop Trump’s illegal union busting of 700,000 federal union workers (& the PRO Act).
