"People Over Billionaires": Scores to Demand End to Military Occupation and ICE Kidnappings
This action connects two urgent crises facing working families: the deployment of over 2,000 armed National Guard troops to Washington D.C. and the earlier military deployment to Los Angeles, alongside the ongoing use of tax dollars to fund surveillance technology that enables ICE kidnappings and deportations. Instead of investing billions in education, healthcare, and community services, our government is pouring resources into military occupation and corporate surveillance contracts that enrich right-wing billionaires like Peter Thiel while terrorizing immigrant communities.

SUPPORT Community Trust Resolution (Oceanside)
Join us to demand the Oceanside City Council pass the Community Trust Resolution—a critical policy to protect immigrant families, workers, and tenants from ICE raids and unjust deportations.
This resolution will:
Require judicial warrants for ICE to access non-public city property
Prohibit city resources from being used for immigration enforcement
Protect residents’ private data from being shared with ICE
Fund “Know Your Rights” outreach and crisis support
The Oceanside Community Trust Resolution is up for a vote—and we’re one vote short.

The tourism industry made a $22 BILLION impact in San Diego last year (San Diego Tourism Authority), yet too many tourism workers still make poverty wages.
On Tuesday, September 16, the San Diego City Council will vote on a historic proposal to raise wages for hotel, janitorial, amusement park, and event center workers across the city. This will hep raise the wage floor for ALL San Diego workers.

As we approach the expiration of our Union contract on October 31, 2025, we need to be ready to face the long fight ahead of us. Under the ongoing attacks on labor, healthcare, and civil liberties, we must be ready to negotiate with the University of California for more than 25,000 workers across the state.
We call on all UC nurses to pledge your participation on August 6th and send a strong message to UC. We must demonstrate that we are ready to fight for a contract that uplifts our profession and communities.
