OUR MISSION
Partnership for a Better San Diego is a 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to combating food insecurity in San Diego & Imperial Counties.
The Partnership leverages organized labor’s operational effectiveness and connection to the community to efficiently procure and distribute food, diapers and other necessities to families in need.
OUR HISTORY
Originally founded to help union workers in times of economic need, the Partnership expanded its operations to the community at large in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Volunteers & staff were deployed by the Labor Council and local unions to establish a drive-up food pantry in City Heights & Imperial Valley, as well as a nationally recognized weekly drive-through food distribution serving thousands of families in need.
Who do we serve? Any family in need.
Services we provide?
We provide food & diapers for families who are in need, we also coordinate bi-monthly food distributions to serve the community with our partners.
Since March 16, 2020:
• Families Served over 85k
• Individuals Served over 300k
• over 500k Diapers served
• 4 million pounds of food SERVED
