CAREER & APPRENTICESHIP PREPARATION PROGRAM (CAPP)

CAPP is a free seven-week intensive vocational training course with specific emphasis on careers in union building and construction. Links to union apprenticeship programs and job placement with employer partners are provided after completion of training.

Courses
Classes are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

CAPP courses include training in:

  • Mechanical aptitudes
  • Blue print reading
  • Construction-related mathematics
  • Computer literacy
  • "Going green in the trades"
  • Certification in Building Trades Multi-Craft Core Curriculum, OSHA Safety, First Aide, and CPR

Eligibilty
The course is open to adults 18 and older, who are legal residents and have a valid photo I.D. and Social Security Card.

To Enroll:
Interested parties need to attend one of the open orientations (no reservations necessary) held on the second and fourth Thursday of every month, excluding major holidays. Participants must bring a valid photo ID and Social Security card.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. Orientation begins at 10 a.m. for the first 30 registered participants.
